The world’s largest cruise ship, Icon of the Seas, has officially sailed for the first time after completing its first sea trials in Turku, Finland, on June 22. As per the reports, the Royal Caribbean International’s Icon of the Seas is a giant 365 m long cruise ship and weighs around 250,800 tonnes.
This ship can accommodate around 5,610 passengers and 2,350 crew members.
If reports are to go by, more than 450 specialists did the preliminary tests for four days on the ship’s bow, main engines, propellers, along with checking the vibration and noise levels. It’s only after the preliminary tests were done that the ship returned to the Meyer Turku shipyard, and is also set to debut out of South Florida in January 2024.
