If reports are to go by, Moscow is planning to introduce a virtual Foreign Tourist Card in order to make travel experience smooth for tourists. This virtual card will allow tourists to make cashless payments for various services.
After a lengthy period of low season, starting from Covid pandemic to the recent political scenario, Moscow is slowly and steadily coming back to pre-covid levels, in terms of tourism. A little while ago, Russia brought in tourist-friendly measures like e-visa, after which the number of tourists visiting the country saw a considerable increase.
As of now, the Foreign Tourist Card is a little more than an idea. Talks are going on in order to make the Foreign Tourist Card a possibility. As per reports, it will be pretty easy to use this virtual card. If someone is planning to travel to Russia, all they have to do is to apply for the Foreign Tourist Card. This can be done remotely. It will act like a bank account where you can transfer money from your domestic personal bank account. It is expected to make cashless payment easier when in Russia.
To make the city experiences smoother for international tourists, the capital city Moscow has introduced seven tourist centers. These tourist centers are equipped with call centers that can assist tourists in case of any help or emergency. Efforts are also being made in order to translate the city navigation into English.
