Time Out has compiled a comprehensive list of all the countries offering digital nomad visas right now, but picking one spot in the world to start your new life? That’s a bit of an overwhelming decision.
Handily, Flatio has evaluated a host of cities on their cost of living, the internet speed and the quality of life to determine which are the best options for nomads, and it’s ranked the top 20.
However, it’s not the only Portuguese city on the list – Porto came in at number 7, where the cost of living is typically between €1,000 and €1,500. Paired with the city’s relaxed pace, its brilliant public transport and its proximity to the Douro Valley, living here can be pretty joyous, too.
In second place was Warsaw, which Flatio describes as an emerging destination for digital nomads thanks to its ‘thriving tech scene, affordable cost of living and excellent infrastructure’. The cost of living here is on par with Porto, and the city’s welcoming atmosphere and great green spaces (such as Łazienki Park) were commended by the research.
Europe totally dominates this list, but read on for the full top 20 destinations for digital nomads this year.
